Proofreading & Copyediting

Proofreading: proofreading is usually done just before an edited thesis is sent for submission to check that corrections have been made. Text is checked for typing errors, mechanical errors, repetition, incorrect page numbers, formatting of headings, or tables and figures, for example.

Copy-editing: copyediting checks for correct grammar, style, syntax, typographical errors, appropriate referencing, punctuation and spelling. I will also provide comments and suggestions to help you develop and improve your academic writing where appropriate.

The rate $12.50/1000 is for both proofreading and copy-editing. Rates for proofreading only can be supplied by quotation.

Any academic writing must be the original work of the candidate and supervisor approval for editing must be obtained by the candidate. No substantive or major rewriting or research may be carried out on behalf of the candidate by Academic Editing.

The following pdfs provide information on the editing guidelines used by Academic Editing.
